This framed Schoolgirl Needlework is decorated with a poem centered over a floral motif. It has an intricate floral border interspersed with clovers. The inscription reads "Charity Toop's Work" and is dated July 1845. The needlework is in good condition but does have some fading, staining, pulls, and unraveled stitching. Although the frame has definite signs of age, the needlework appears to have been framed some time after the needlework was completed. The framed needlework measures 24" by 22". The paper backing of the frame is deteriorated with age. The needlework was purchased from an estate in Potomac, Maryland.
