Here is a unique little snuff bottle carved from carnelian into the shape of a peach. The variation in color is best seen in bright light. However, it is apparent that the shades extend from amber to acreamy, nearly transparent veins on the verso. The lid is a green hardstone that completes the peach form. The spoon appears to be bone. It is approximately 2 inches long and 1 inch wide.
There are surface scratches, nicks, and stains on the interior that are consistent with age and use. Additional pictures available upon request.
