This is a nice, well painted 20th Century Chinese Famille Rose Melon Jar. The colors are vibrant and nicely shaded. The original lid has been replaced with a hardwood lid carved in the shape of a chrysanthemum. The jar is in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear and use. Based on the facial features, hair styling, and tan shading of the faces, the jar is believed to date to the mid-20th century.
The jar is approximately 8 inches tall and about 8 inches wide.
