18th to early 19th Century Chinese Export Porcelain Dish
This is a unique Chinese porcelain dish made for export market using soft pastel colors. The blue ground outer border has 4 floral panels alternating with a geometric design of dots enclosed in diamonds, similar to diaper border, in gold enamel, possible genuine gilt. The inner border consists of pink lotus and cherry blossoms with green scrolling leaves that surrounds a center medallion that is a stylized chrysanthemum in gold on blue ground in gold circle. The dish is truly rare but bears the characteristics of other patterns made for the Persian market as well as the Southeast Asian market.
There are firing flaws as well as a small chip to the rim of the dish. It is in excellent condition, otherwise, with minimal wear to the gilt and enamels.
The dish has an approximate 6 inch diameter.
