In 1967 George Wade and Son ceramics company was contracted to produce a line of miniatures as a promotion for Red Rose Tea in Canada. The original 32 miniatures were called "Whimsies". They became so popular that the company continued to promote Red Rose with other lines of miniatures for the British market
Each Wade England figurine is unique even though they were massed produced. There are difference in the glaze and coloring on every one.
This figurine represents the male rhino on Noah's Ark. He was part of the pair in the Noah's Ark series 2002 - 2006. (This listing is only for one rhino. All others listed separately.)
